His self-centred, self-reliant brother of the West meanwhile denies his outer nature too, More slowly but more surely seeking admittance, Forgetting himself, merging himself in his fellows, striving to love his neighbour, Moving thus indirectly on the stronghold, Destined perhaps to find the drawbridge down, the doors wide open, The power of love supreme where will could but win a doubtful, transitory victory.
