As regards the illustrations of the medals, the majority all of those by Pisanello and Pasti) have been made of the actual size of the original and, according to the practice which experience shows to give the best result, from plaster casts. Several of these have been kindly supplied by M. Valton, from his collection of casts, and in some of these cases it is difficult to trace the present owner of the original.
