The study claims that the success of the evangelical free churches lies in a combination of the scene's seclusion and the fierce internal competition with regard to what it has to offer. This combination allows it both to hold onto the majority of children within the scene, as well as to convince people from outside to opt for the lifestyle of the free churches.
