But Deutsche Grammophon plays it safe with this 2006 double-disc, Perspectives: Gidon Kremer, because the first disc features pieces from the mainstream, and the second presents modern but uncontroversial works; examples of Kremer's ethnic or esoteric adventures are not found here, so his unique perspectives are not fully represented. However constrained this collection may be, it at least offers complete pieces, rather than single movements or short excerpts, and newcomers will appreciate the consistency of the programming.
