Fr. Arrupe, SJ was there at the Atomic Bomb drop on Hiroshima. He is an MD, ministered to the bodies of those dying while contemplating how any nation can do such a thing to other men. Whatever was forged in him that day and the days which followed, he went on to lead the Jesuit Order (Society of Jesus - the Jesuits)into a truly new age for them.
This little book, which summarizes his thinking (and prayers!) on the relationship among people and mankind's relationship with God, is a gentle walk through the hopes and dreams of one person - a man- who devoted his life to the service of humankind and especially to continuing to insure the work of the men who join the Jesuits -- an order devoted to scholarship and working in the concrete for the improvement of man's relationship between God and Mankind and men and women with one another.
