None. Good Only. The very scarce first edition of Edward Dutton Cook's scarce first novel, Paul Foster's Daughter, in three volumes. With E. Charlton's bookseller label on the rear pastedown of Volume I. "Cook was a writer of numerous articles on art topics in various reviews, newspapers, and periodicals, and the author of many works of fiction. Of the latter, Paul Foster's Daughter, his first work, served to establish his reputation in 1861." (DNB) Edward Dutton Cook, 1829 1883, was an English dramatic critic and author. In cloth binding with gilt lettering. Externally, rubbed. There is mild wear to the extremities, including mild fading to the spine. Front and rear hinges of each volume are slightly strained but firm. Internally, generally firmly bound. Page 177 to 208 of volume 2 are a bit loose. Pages are bright and generally clean, with some slight browning and scattered spotting. Good Only.
