I read your book
"A genius for war" by Carlo D'Este is the best biography about George S Patton, "Ole Blood & Guts". Patton's best quality was his desire to win at all costs. His downfall was his inability to "play well w/others". It is clear that even though Patton may have had dyslexia he was noted as the most well-read general of WWII. He incorporated what he learned into battle plans & strategy. His tun to Bastogne was unparalleled in military history & w/o this attack, the war would have gone on much longer. He may have had a bigger picture of how to fight the battle in France than any other general. He was a man of action & this marvelous book clearly tells his story. Carlo D'Este- I read your book & I thorougly recommend it to any history/military devotees.

D'Este Scores Again!
A finely detailed story of General Patton's life, warts and all. The author has painted the story of a driven, but troubled individual who felt himself to be destiny's child. In an effort to live up to his ancestor's deeds, as he percieved them, he drove himself to achieve greatness in war. He suceeded, in spite of himself. This book also served to put to rest some lingering suspicions that some of us entertained regarding the General's death. In all, a very entertaining portion of our Nation's history.
