Not your average Harlan
Anyone who has read a book written exclusively by Ellison, alone, would have to admit that he leans to the dark side of humanity. Reading an entire collection of Ellison-only stories is not for the faint-hearted or depressed. Some of the stories in this book follow this style, but more often than not, when he conspires with another author on these stories, he lightens up and has a little fun. Certainly the introductions preceding each story, detailing the writing process in each partnership are entertaining enough themselves. I'm still surprised no one was arrested in the writing of this book.
