If around this coil or magnet a second coil be wound, having no electrical contact with the first coil, it will be found that at the moment a current is sent through the first coil, another current is generated in the second coil. This secondary induced current is formed only the moment the current is started in the primary coil; it does not continue as long as the current flows in the primary coil - but, as soon as the current is broken in the primary, another current is caused to flow in the reverse direction in the secondary.
