Extremely well-research tome that gets down and dirty into what the politics were behind the factions, and the texts, of the Old Testament. The ideas are great, and although I would have loved to see a few of them more flushed out, the brevity is probably in keeping with a desire to avoid getting into raw speculation. Overall, quite fascinating and readable.
