As New in Fine jacket. Advanced Reading Copy (ARC) 5.75 X 8.75" Black hardboards with gilt title on the spine. Like new. Jacket shows some edgewear along the top and tuck fold but is otherwise in good shape. Jacket features an illustration of a cart stuck on a primitive road as the driver and helper try to free it. Top portion of the page is orange with the title, etc in black. Price unclipped: "$5 and 30 s net". This copy was sent by U of T Press for review purposes. An insert requesting copies of the review is included. An interesting review of the development of land travel in the British Isles during the Tudor and Stuart eras. This was before railways and at the advent of the construction of roads and the beginning of inter-community post services. Eight black and white photos illustrate some of the situations discussed in the book. 147 pp includes index.
