having been given this book years ago for something different to read, I found this book to be very entertaining. The author had brought home the reality of what could happen to this country if certain types of people would get control of office. The group of rebels as they are called are nothing but people who want to live life according to what the constitution says and to be able to protect what is theirs and not have the government tell them where, when, or how to live. I enjoyed this book from cover to cover and think that it is a finely written of what may come.

A page turner!
I have read many doom and gloom novels in my time, but this book had me reading and reading until I had it finished in two days! The author really knew what he was talking about in this book. His use of detail of the unfolding events and then the aftermath...kept me wanting to turn to the next page. Then he introduces us to the main character, Ben Raines. His choice of a main character was good. An ex-military, anti-liberal, quick witted individual....nice choice. Ben Raines finds himself in a position he at first doesn't want to be in (leadership role), he just wants to travel the United States and find out how all the states fared in this nuclear catastrophe. Sooner or later he finds that his leadership just might be what the Doctor ordered to begin the long process of rebuilding. I am on Book 5 in the series now, and have not become bored with reading. You will enjoy this book.
