A gambler who grasped and lost in play the fortunes of a wife and daughter in addition to his own, and when all was exhausted, lived upon and gambled with the earnings of his only child - even in dying leaving her only a heritage of debts to the amount of a thousand pounds, which she most nobly liquidated.
