Our Tree Named Steve by Alan Zweibel is a sweet history of a beloved tree in a family's yard. This makes a great read aloud book. It could be used as a springboard discussion about helping to the best of your ability, about being part of a family, or as a gentle introduction to death of a loved one.

Wonderful book!
This is a wonderful picture book about faithfulness, life changes, friendship and passages. Beaufitully illustrated, Steve, the tree, sees a family through many years and the narrative is written in the form of a letter telling the grown kids that Steve will no longer be in the yard to welcome them when they return home for a visit. Get your tissue out! This is a sweet and sad story. Loved it!
