And no one pretending to religion would ever presume to say he had trained his children in the way in which they should go, if he had trained them, by exam ple, to live and raise up children without morning and evening prayer. This original order for family religion and family instruction is more especially specified by the prophet Isaiah, both as to age and manner, when he asks: Whom shall he teach knowledge? And whom shall he make to understand doctrine? Them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breast.
