For developers pretty new to SQL*Plus or PL/SQL, this is a good book. For this group I would rate it 5 stars.
My issue with this book is that the book is more like an intro-level text rather than a true reference, almost half the book is devoted to intro to SQL and PL/SQL concepts like update/insert/select/delete.
It is a huge help now that indexes are included in O'Reilly's pocket reference series.
