In addition to the crafting of the storylines, even the actual reading of the stories made me appreciate Munro more and more. Each sentence of each story seems to flow out of an 'organic' source, fitting together in such a beautiful way that one feels that they are experiencing something special.
The first story has been a longtime favorite of mine, a widely layered story of a 'lost' love, a love of reading (or is it?), marital satisfaction and a decapitation in a sawmill (did it happen?).
Reading each story just amplifies the power of the written word, in the hands of a master short story writer
