First of this revised edition of a 1928 text, bearing a choice autograph addition: Tipped to an inner flyleaf is a Typed Note Signed from Angle, 1p, 8½" X 11", Springfield, IL, 1944 August 19. Addressed to Ralph G. Newman, founder of Chicago's noted Abraham Lincoln Book Shop. Near fine. On "Illinois State Historical Library" letterhead, which Angle served as State Librarian, he notes: "...I'm not going to take a vacation next week and maybe I will find time to pack the Lincoln books and send them to you. There will be a few fair titles, but I warn you now that most of them will be pretty nearly junk...." Signed simply "Paul."
