The story, set in Australia, follows the lives of people unable to accept the inevitable until the bleak ending. There is no happy ending. Classic Book
I had never read this novel, nor watched the movie. The story, written years ago, could be from now. The book is timeless. I have read many of Nevil Shute's books, but this one really stands out & I will never forget it.
