Morata was the companion and instrucer of Anna d'Este the Duchess of Ferrara, where she met many people of literary fame. She embraced the doctrines of Luther and John Calvin, and studied deep into philosophy. A collection of her Greek letters and Latin dialogues were published after her death. Written by Amelia Gillespie Smyth, who also wrote 'Selwyn', 'Mornings With Mama', 'Probation', and 'Tales of the Moors'. Bookplate to the front pastedown, 'Buxton'.
