Original blue cloth gilt with silver titling to spine in pictorial price clipped dust jacket. Appears unread, contents clean. The removal of dogs from the Antarctic followed an amendment to the Antarctic Treaty in 1991. Environmentalists concerned that the distemper-like virus which had affected the seal population in the North Sea may be linked to dogs, pressed for this change.
