This book is about the Women's March of 2017 but much, much more. After marching in the streets of Washington D C. for eight hours with a million like minded people I had a tough night sleeping. This book is about the Women's March of 2017 but much, much more. After marching in the streets of Washington D C. for eight hours with a million like minded people I had a tough night sleeping. In a hotel room near the Capitol building I spent that sleepless night with memories of the march running through my head. At 5:00 in the morning waiting in an airport terminal for my flight back to New Mexico, I put these lines to paper. I have not changed more than a word or two since that day. I haven't needed to, these words came straight from my heart. Since that day, I have returned to these versus countless times. With daily assaults on our most basic values; human decency, tolerance, equality, women's rights, the environment, public lands....the list goes on...I have often felt deep sorrow, hopelessness, even despair. These versus have eased the pain, given me comfort, given me hope. I've written this book hoping it will do the same for you. The Women's March showed that four million strong were willing to show up and yell in the streets for what is right. I know there are more of you out there, maybe not yelling, maybe not marching, but just as committed as we were that day. Know that we are still here. We are still committed. We are still fighting. We are still strong.
