Bandleader, composer, arranger, percussionist, and vibraphonist Tito Puente recorded over 100 albums of dance-oriented mambo, son, salsa, and Latin jazz during his five-decade career, and it all started with the tracks he recorded for Tico Records in 1949 and 1950 that are collected here in this two-disc set.
