Also featured is his 22-year stint in "Record Breakers" in which his feats included the 400-foot death slide from the top of Blackpool Tower and the three-hour, 23-minute "wing walk" from Gatwick to Le Bourget in Paris. When his life was shattered by the surprise diagnosis of lung cancer (he never smoked but attributed his cancer to trumpet-playing in smoky venues), his public struggle gained him admiration. This book contains the diaries from these years in which he speaks honestly about his family and religious faith. Roy Castle died in September 1993.
