Good. 1824 first edition. Original full leather binding. The front joint has a split extending about 40% up from the bottom, but the front cover is still firmly attached. There is quite a bit of wear and rubbing to the edges of the binding and boards, with the corners worn and rubbed through. Some scuffing and rub spots to the spine. The pages are tightly bound and the contents are complete. Former owner's name at the edge of the title page. The text has foxing, heavy in places. A rare first edition of this important Americana imprint.
