The second of Ray Bryant's live CDs to come from his private archive of soundboard cassettes originates from a 1997 date at the Montreal Jazz Bistro in Toronto. Accompanied by bassist Harry Anderson and drummer Winard Harper, the pianist's set is drenched in the blues, including revisiting old favorites such as John Lewis' "Django," the old standard "Good Morning Heartache," Bobby Timmons' "Moanin'," and Dizzy Gillespie's "Con Alma," as well as his own slow blues "Slow Freight" and "Little Susie."
