This was an exciting submarine thriller about a rogue submarine that targets and destroys a mult-billion dollar aircraft carrier. This book showed that carriers, although they're surrounded by a protective screen of ships and submarines, are not invulnerable to attack. If you're a submarine, everything else out there is referred to as a TARGET. This book introduces some characters that later show up in HMS Unseen. It also has an interesting transit underwater through the Bosporus in a diesel sub; something unheard of and seemingly impossible to do. I find it hard to believe that the U.S. would wait so long to act in response to this terrorist attack, once they figured out who was responsible. Six thousand were supposedly killed on the aircraft carrier, and there are other attacks as well. I think the American public would be more outraged.
