This could be one of the best books I've ever read. I picked it up because of the title (I love gardening), and I'm so glad I did. The characters are people I would love to get to know and I was so sorry when it was finished. "Night Gardening" could best be described as a romance novel, which would normally send me running in the other direction, but it wasn't what I would have expected. Maggie and Tristan are "normal" people, with quirks, faults, and imperfect bodies compared to the characters in the "bodice rippers" I expect from a romance novel. Being familiar with gardening might be helpful, but I gave this book to my mother who is not a gardener, and she loved it too.
