Very interesting book - I wish I had read it in college in the '60's. I would love to find a follow-up book on the same region of KY to see if things have improved there - particularly the educational system.

Should be required reading for students
This is probably one of, if not best, books on the Sociological basis of the Appalachain people and how big business took their pride, land and self-esteem, with returning nothing to the people or the land
