The generous favor with which that book has been greeted, some forty editions having been sold, indicates that he in some degree provided for the wants of classes in that department. But it has been noticed that, in consequence of the improved condition of our public schools at the present time, pupils are enabled to complete their arithmetical studies at a comparatively early age; and in consequence, a demand has arisen for an easy algebraic course to follow.
