Various heightened moments and complex knots that intensify the narrative experience are returned to in order to re-examine their function and impact from different perspectives. The non-linear aspect of "Ulysses" invites such cicularity of critical methods as anti-linear contextualizations contend with the persistence of the chronology of the novel, a field of play in which such counters as content, conflict, confluence, contradiction and consistency (as well as inconsistency) are constantly operative.
