This report considers NATO and the USA in Africa since the end of the Cold War and looks to the future. The role of others, China, Russia, Iran, Turkey, the United Nations and the European Union will also be detailed to consider if they could or would fill a void if NATO and the USA withdrew or if their increasing interest would prompt Trump to be more active in NATO and in Africa.
