Churchill's autobiography covers his early life at school, as a subaltern, and a war correspondent, ending with his election to Parliament at the age of 26. Clearly lighter reading than his later life, it will shed light on the upper classes during the Victorian era. ('I was resolved to return to India to win the Polo tournament...') It certainly sheds some light on Churchill. Interesting, entertaining stuff. The man's early life was hardly dull.
