Life's journey has taken me into many different pursuits and endeavors. I completed my final master's degree at Talbot Theological Seminary in 1980. Other degrees include: BA from Idaho State University in Speech and Drama, 1970; MFA in playwrighting from the University of Utah in 1972. I entered the pastorate in 1981, serving in Arizona and California, and retired at age 62 for health reasons. I am married with three grown sons and seven grandchildren. My wife, Airini, and I have been married for 32 years. We enjoy serving the Lord together in the school ministry we began in 1986. Poetry has always been a sideline. "Mountains" was written in 1978. Many of my poems have been thrown away over the years. Nowadays, my poems are on computer, so they are less apt to be lost. All of the other poems are recent, and represent my latest ability. I try to glorify God in the telling and paraphrasing of Scriptural truths and events. Nothing is quoted directly from any Bible. It is all from memory and sermons that I have given. I believe that my spiritual poems are inspired, connecting with the Holy Spirit and trying to give the salvation message. The poems speak for themselves.
