Now that I have your attention with this review's headline, let me explain: Eric Powell's The Goon is the funniest, most random graphic novel you will ever read. The main character is The Goon, a mobster tough guy who is constantly defending his turf from the menacing likes of zombies, robots, and yes, flaming orangutans. The dialogue in this book is hilarious, and as you'll see very quotable. The illustrations are cartoony, yet disturbing at the same time, which is just perfect for the mood of this book. The Goon is truly an original comic. The Goon might have a tough life, but it makes for an extremely funny read for the rest of us.
