I recently discovered DuQuette, and have enjoyed everything he has written so far. This title is an autobiography, written in an easy-to-read style. Sort of like a letter from a friend. He is funny, honest and knows how to paint a situation's image with words.

Finally, someone 'splains.
Having read so much occult, thelemic, hermetic, Masonic, and otherwise spooky and forbidden books in the course of my life, I was overjoyed to finally read one written with a sense of humor and genuine humility. Lon Milo DuQuette tells the simple story of becoming a world class magician. He tells hilarious stories about Enochian, Solomonaic, and good old Crowley magic. He shows us his progress warts and all, and talks about participating in the highest of magical ceremonies like he's talking about his day at the office. Which, I guess, he is. A great book.
