I commend to the reader these riveting poems with diverse subjects that I consider to be among my personal best as the most intriguing, stimulating, inspiring and humorous of them all. This volume contains 300 of my best classic poems. Selecting less than ten percent of my poems for inclusion in my best set of classics was excruciating, since I was attached to so many more of those I have written. These poems are divided into 30 sections with 10 poems in each. The first five section are about my love of nature. The next two are about life and morality. That is followed by humor, satire, happiness and nostalgia. Personal inspiration poems come next, followed by ten poems on Texas and Texans, as well as country poems. The romance of poetry writing and relationship to art delves into my interest in both forms of communication. Art enhances imagination as does poetry. I include selected pieces of art from the public domain painted or illustrated over the centuries. As section dividers, art is a starting point for triggering feelings and emotions related to the ten poems contained in each.The bulk of the poems dealing with patriotism include a large number of poems published by the prestigious Society of Classical Poets. Romantic poems and love sonnets over the next five sections continue my growing reputation as a poet of expressive love. Wit and wisdom is filled with fascinating concepts for living well. I provide one section with well received musical compositions, followed by two sections on the supernatural. My last section is more for the kids and those who enjoy reading about animals and the conversations they have with humans.
