Pride joined Honest with My 6 Latest & 6 Greatest, a likable country-pop effort demonstrating that the years certainly hadn't robbed him of his charm and charisma. This CD's 12 offerings fall into two categories: new versions of six of Pride's hits, and six songs employing young country artists. The Mississippi native is in good form on new solo versions of "Kiss an Angel Good Morning," "Roll On Mississippi," and "Is Anybody Goin' to San Antone," as well as selections that find him joined by Travis Tritt, Marty Stuart, Joe Diffie, or Hal Ketchum. Unfortunately, most of them aren't really duets, for most of Pride's guests don't have nearly enough room and end up serving as little more than background singers. An exception is the nice spot Tritt has on "Burnin' Down the Town." The album's strengths do outweigh its shortcomings, and it's good to see Pride back in the studio. ~ Alex Henderson, Rovi
