Not just financially, but also broken in spirit. He would then find another vulnerable and financially fit woman to smother in love and affection-until her funds were completely depleted. To make matters worse, another investigation within the department had top priority, so all of his findings were pushed to the back burner. He was left on his own, with a caseload that was too much for one person. He stayed in a drunken stupor and became the joke of the department.
