This book takes the reader on a journey through the madness that was ruling China prior to the start of World War II. The story leads the reader through a real-life crime as well as the history of the countries involved, and it is an excellent read.
Scott Seligman has given his readers an engrossing story that is wrapped around one of the most shocking moments in the history of the Jewish people in China. The characters in the book, from the Chinese detectives to the spies to the Jewish community (and the list goes on) are so well-written and very interesting that they are brought completely to life by this amazing author. In addition, the research into this time period and what happened is extremely well-done and completely mesmerizing. I was honestly stunned by the in-depth and complex way the story was told and commend the author on his ability to turn all of this history into such a compelling story.
ââ?¬Å"Murder in Manchuriaââ?¬Â? by Scott D. Seligman is an amazing story and I highly recommend it to anyone out there who enjoys the true-crime genre or even just a story that is so full of accurate historical fact. Mr. Seligman is obviously a very talented writer and he has put together an amazing book that I am sure readers will not be able to put down. I certainly could not. It is a remarkable book and one that will stay with the reader long after they finish it. 5 Stars!
