In Murder Red Ink , Mord McGhee imaginatively explores the incomprehensible depths of horror, human nature, and captures the brutal reality of the monster behind the Jack the Ripper murders of 1888. Allena Gould moves among the horror brought into the future of Chicago, where technological ghosts are a reality and historical interface programs can be rewritten and interacted with. Once a talented prodigy, she wrestles her way through Hellish nightmares; torture and murder as seen through the eyes of the Ripper himself, in a science fiction whirlwind of the darkest sort. McGhee's vision of apocalyptic dread is not for the passing reader, it's a literary odyssey of gore meant to be enjoyed by those who like to be terrifically disturbed. Steve Alten, NY Times best-selling author of Meg and The Loch notes, "Graphic. Intense. Provocative. The psychological thriller has a new voice and it is Mord McGhee."This edition includes Foreword by senior Casebook forum moderator Robert E. Anderson.

Murder Red Ink puts the reader face to face with Jack the ripper as the crimes are being committed. It's disturbing and when you experience McGhee's narrative of the crime scenes one is less apt to think of the serial killer as a criminal genius and far more likely to realize how horrible they truly are.
Five blooded stars for the spine tingling plot and 5 covered eyes for the gore and horror.
The female lead was deep and complex and she spent no time begging for men to protect her. I heard the ending was a shocker and iT IS Terrifying and unsuspected.

Terror and Gore
Shocking true events that made me cringe. I didn't know much about ripper but what a vile man. The blend into science fiction was something I didn't see coming. There were good thrills and chills and I think I was lucky enough I see the origins of an excellent new writer

RIPPER OF A READ
Murder Red Ink takes you to the very time and place of the 1888 killings in Whitechapel. Ive read a few books about Ripper but had always been drawn to the old Time Machine movie where Jack the Ripper gets into the future and there is a chase.
This book does something so different and so unexpected I cant stop thinking about it.
Scary, Deep, Twisting and Knifing.
For Maniacs -the McGhee fan club- it is a romp through history and a blending of the worst chapter in human history meeting a brave new world.
recommended for fans of Stephen King Dark Tower series and HP Lovecraft fans!
