Dividend Book (Form No. 40).--This contains the particulars extracted from the Stock Register, which are necessary for the calculation and preparation of the Dividend Warrants. Dividend Warrants (Form No. 50).--Dividends are posted on the evening before the due date, and the first half of the form is accepted by the Inland Revenue Department as a voucher in support of claims for remission of income tax. It will be noted that all Dividend Warrants outstanding more than six months must be sent to the Registrar for verification before being presented for payment. Register of Transfers (Form No. 51).-This book, which is the posting medium for all transfers of stock, contains the necessary details extracted from the actual transfer. CHAPTER XII. PRIVATE IMPROVEMENT WORKS ACCOUNTS. Provision is made under the Public Health Act, 1875, that where any street within any Urban District (not being a highway repairable by the inhabitants at large), or the carriage-way, foot-way, or any part of such street, is not sewered, levelled, paved, metalled, flagged, channelled, and made good, or is not lighted to the satisfaction of the Urban Authority, such authority may, by notice addressed to the respective owners or occupiers of the premises fronting, adjoining, or abutting on such parts thereof as may require to be sewered, levelled, paved, metalled, flagged, or channelled, or to be lighted, require them to carry out the necessary works.
