entertaining
The Mrs. Pollifax stories are suspenseful and well-written, Mrs. P. is charming, and the books are hard to put down. The author is entranced by Buddhism and other eastern mystcisms, which comes through in the story lines, and although I do not agree with this theological perspective, I enjoyed the books very much. Dorothy Gilman is a keen observor, very witty, and each book also includes much local color and information about the exotic locale. Very entertaining.

More Fun with Mrs. Pollifax!
Mrs. Polifax is absolutely my favorite spy. The thing I like the most about these books is the in-depth characterization of all the people we meet. In this book we meet a Whirling Dervish. I really enjoyed learning more about the Whirling Dervish and his religious beliefs. I always like to follow along on Mrs. Pollifax's adventures by looking at maps to see where she goes this time. Mrs. Pollifax is always surprising AND amazing!
