Mr. Lotman is a collection of dark short stories guaranteed to haunt you. In it... A catfish becomes legend, A girl goes missing, And a man visits a haunted Victorian house. Every story in this collection is very different. In the first story, Infinity, the author uses artistic license by choosing not to capitalize the lines of the child speaking, and instead sides with a lowercase format adaptively showing the age of the character. This whimsical stylistic device technique is similar to how Emily Dickinson used unique punctuation to creatively express her poetry which was uncommon at the time. Author E. E. Cummings famously used decapitalization to start out his writing. This element is not used in every story, as they are all intimately diverse. In Wilderness Road, the vocalization of the characters are served by the accurate use of a southern drawl, whereas Mr. Lotman, the last short story of the collection, has an Edgar Allen Poe type quality.
