The booklet, in English, French, and German, opens with a somewhat bizarre effort to tie Mozart to the Order of St. John, with which he had a few glancing encounters mostly early in life. What this is supposed to mean and what possible significance this might have beyond a mere coincidence of surname is only hazily expressed and not very convincing (in the Sinfonia concertante in E flat major, K. 364, you learn, "Mozart generously casts his two soloists as equals," and this is supposedly...
