I first saw Mother Wove the Morning live in Saratoga, CA back in the early 90's and it was so powerful, I insisted that my grown daughter go with me to see it a week later. Since then, I've seen the video, read the play and recommended it to many, many friends. I bought this copy to give to my niece, who had not heard about the play. Carol Lynn Pearson is a wonderful storyteller! My first exosure to her was when I read her book "Goodbye, I Love You". When a friend first invited me to see the play, the most powerful motivator to see it was becase she wrote that book and it touched me so strongly.
In Mother Wove the Morning, she plays sixteen women in history seeking the feminine divine. She relates sixteen very different points of view. This book is an excellent companion to the video or dvd... or powerful on its own.
