Seller's Description:
Very Good. 12mo-over 6 3/4"-7 3/4" Tall. 1867? 12mo-over 6 3/4"-7 3/4" Tall. iv, 111p. A very good copy, with a few minor blemishes on the front cover and a little rubbing at the forecorners of the covers. It is a nice tight copy bound in its original green cloth and the gold lettering and decoration on the front cover and the spine are nice and bright. There are twenty-nine Mother Goose rhymes, each rather elaborately expanded or commented upon in verse. In addition there is an introductory verse and a concluding verse. There is only one illustration, the frontispiece. This is an early edition, but not the first which was published in 1859. The editions which were much later dropped A Christmas Reading from the title page and speaking of which it had very little to do with the book, except that perhaps it was meant to sell the book at Christmas-time.
