There are plenty of Yellowman compilations and while it's hard to call Greensleeves' Most Wanted the flat-out best, it's top shelf and necessary for the serious fan thanks to all of the 12" mixes it features. Begging the grocer to carry something better than junk food, the scathing yet joyous "Mr. Chin" is only extended by a minute but you'll never want to hear the regular version again. The playful anthem "Who Can Make the Dance Ram" has its simple but effective dub tacked onto the end as horns play with the song's "Three Blind Mice" theme. The choices past the 12"s are near perfect with important numbers like "Zungguzungguguzungguzeng," "Nobody Move Nobody Get Hurt," and his cover of "Blueberry Hill" all in attendance. His playful and revolutionary sides are represented in equal shares and his take on "Wreck a Pum Pum" illustrates why his sexual "slack" lyrics are infamous. The liner notes are informative, the sometimes forgotten gem "Morning Ride" is here, and if there's any reason to complain it's that Greensleeves didn't license the great tracks Yellowman recorded for other labels. Still, the swaggering albino who always elicits a smile spent his golden years on Greensleeves as this all killer, no filler collection displays. ~ David Jeffries, Rovi
