Seller's Description:
Very Good. No Jacket. A late-career novel by the famed Irish historian, politician, and writer of fiction. Rather a scarce title. This is a Very Good copy of the First American Edition, published in the same year as the English version. Bright green cloth binding with filled gilt decorations: an Irish harp on the front cover and shamrocks on the spine. Clean text; 397 pages, with 4 pages of publisher's adverts in the rear. (Quercus notes an ad for "The Grapes of Wrath, " priced at $1.50, certainly cheaper than the version by Steinbeck, if still in effect! ) Mildly bumped corners and the FFEP has been removed. Small spot on the rear cover. The rear gutter is starting but holding nicely. No dustjacket. Size: 8vo-over 7¾"-9¾" tall.
