Mirage and Fallen Angel are one in the same
Because I couldn't find a copy of the movie Mirage, I began searching for a copy of the book the movie was based on, Fallen Angel by Walter Ericson. Copies were rare and expensive. Realizing that popular cinematic releases have book releases at the same time, I searched for a book titled, "Mirage". Sure enough, there was one, but it was writt... en by Howard Fast. A little research led me to the fact that Mr. Fast and Mr. Ericson were one in the same. And so was the book. Fallen Angel and Mirage are the same novel. Only difference? Mirage was $1.00 and Fallen Angel was $53.00.
Mirage is a political and psychological thriller that quickly makes it clear that it was written in the early years of the Cold War. Although somewhat dated, it is a well developed, tightly written story of a man and his journey to discover who he is and why he has forgotten the last three years of his life. A good and fast read.
